What is Travel Tuesday?

Travel Tuesday falls on the Tuesday after Black Friday weekend. Typically, on Travel Tuesday, airlines, hotels and other businesses in the tourism industry offer special discounts. This year, Travel Tuesday falls on November 28.

"Travel Deal Tuesday has consistently become one of the best days of the year to book travel. Given the massive holiday shopping and consumer savings on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, travel providers are motivated to drop prices during the holiday sales week to take advantage of the consumer spending mindset, and incentivise travellers at a time when travel demand is low.” said Hayley Berg, Lead Economist at Hopper.

Which airlines are taking part in Travel Tuesday?

While we don't know exactly what deals each airline will be offering on Travel Tuesday, if last year is any indication, there will be plenty of deals to go around.

Last year, Hopper estimated that there were 78% more travel deals on Travel Tuesday than there were on Cyber Monday and 50% than on Black Friday. In other words, Travel Tuesday is statistically the best time to book your flights. Hopper also noted that there were deals of up to 60% off on flights to Lisbon, London, Los Angeles, Puerto Rico, amongst other destinations.

Some of the companies that took part last year included Hawaiian Airlines, Aer Lingus, Southwest and JetBlue Vacations. Hopper, Virgin Voyages and Hyatt Hotels are all confirmed to be offering special deals this year.

Well, we are certainly convinced — and we will definitely be booking a few getaways next Tuesday!
