PayPal is in a good place right now.
Markets Insider reported that its latest earnings report, released late last month, sent its stock price up 6%. Meanwhile, its total number of active users has surpassed 210 million around the globe.
And the company, based in San Jose, California, is doubling the size of its New York office in the West Village by adding two floors.
Business Insider recently visited PayPal's Manhattan office, which it shares with Venmo. PayPal acquired Venmo when it bought its parent company, Braintree, for $800 million in 2013.
Here's what we saw:
We arrived at the company's West Village digs on a balmy afternoon last week. Amanda Coffee, a PayPal spokeswoman, showed around as the office prepared to celebrate its expansion.
First, we headed up to the office's private rooftop, which has a prime view of the Hudson River. Employees can gather here to work or mingle during happy hours or office events.
The building started out as Venmo's headquarters. When eBay and PayPal split in 2015, the latter relocated from Chelsea and moved in with its recent acquisition.
Venmo was established on the fifth floor, while PayPal claimed the sixth. Recently, PayPal also took over the first and second floors.
One of the recent additions to the space is this big auditorium. A hundred or so employees can congregate here.
The auditorium is known as Central Park — all the locations on this floor are named after New York icons.
Next, we headed to the show room. Like PayPal's headquarters in San Jose, California, this office has a space for presenters to demonstrate how to make the most of PayPal's products and acquisitions, including Venmo and TIO Networks.
Josh Beyers, the innovation-showcase manager, showed us a visualization of PayPal transactions across the globe.
Afterward, we headed to where some employees work and hang out.
We immediately noticed that the office featured lots of comfy seating and bright murals ...
... along with a free gym ...
... and even a stash of useful odds and ends, like lip balm and cough drops.
Some people were working at their desks as we walked through ...
... but there were also plenty of quirky spaces to hide away. This room was plastered with bright album covers.
Another comfortable conference room required occupants to take off their shoes before entering.
And for those inclined to rock out on the job, there's this music-themed room that features some real instruments.
When we visited Venmo's office, the floor had a similar vibe, but it was slightly quieter and more relaxed.
We saw a screen behind the front desk with a running feed of Venmo transactions.
We also noticed a ton of Venmo swag, like mugs, T-shirts, and infant onesies.
Venmo also featured one of the most unusual conference rooms we saw on the tour — one with a wall of fake dollar bills. We were told that one of them was authentic, but we couldn't find it.
The office is cyclist-friendly, featuring space to hang bikes.
It also has gender-neutral bathrooms. Last year, PayPal scrapped plans to open an office in North Carolina after the state passed a controversial bill barring people from using the bathroom that corresponds to their gender identity.

All employees enjoy free catered breakfast and lunch every day. We learned that "Taco Tuesdays" and the weekly Wednesday juice bar were particularly popular.
There are also tons of snacks on both the PayPal and the Venmo floors ...
... not to mention cold-brew coffee on tap for anyone who needs a pick-me-up.
One of PayPal's kitchens even had a whole drawer of candy. The consensus was that Venmo's snacks tended to be on the healthier side.
Employees of PayPal and Venmo sometimes raid each other's kitchens to grab their preferred goodies.
Employees also come together for a joint happy hour on Thursdays.
That's why even though hundreds of people work across four floors at the Manhattan offices of PayPal and Venmo, the office can remain relatively close-knit.
