Lil Yachty often worked better as an idea than a rapper. The late-decade morass of grifters like Lil Pump, amidst the self-serious reign of Future and Drake (eventual Yachty collaborators, for what it's worth), created a demand for something lighter, someone charismatic, a throwback to a time in the culture when characters like Biz Markie could score a hit or Kool Keith could sustain a career in one hyper-specific lane of rap fandom.
The Outlander cast at PaleyFest. Much ado has been made about Outlander’s sex appeal — the physical attractiveness of its stars Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, naturally, but more so regarding the story’s romantic drama and very sexy sex scenes. So when presented with the opportunity to speak to the cast and creators of the Starz historical epic based on Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling book series ahead of their PaleyFest panel in Los Angeles Thursday, we posited a less-explored question: What is the most unsexy thing that has happened during filming on the show?
Superman has gotten a makeover — well, another makeover — two years ahead of turning 75 years old in 2013. As the first and most widely known representative of the spandexed set, Superman remains the popular face of that uniquely American creation, the superhero. But America has changed a lot since 1938. And as it did, that face changed, too. You can talk about the S-shield, or the bright red booties, or the cape, or the red trunks.
ThrillersReview‘The so-called “right-to-privacy” means less every day … ’ This whip-smart novel is a polemical addition to the debate on Big Data Commenting in these pages on recent developments in the Snowden whistleblowing saga, Shami Chakrabarti, director of the campaign group Liberty, was moved to suggest: “Who needs the movies?” You could equally ask whether there is anything within David Shafer’s debut novel – about a sinister cabal of Big Data magnates scheming to seize the world’s information and sell it back to us via its own proprietary platform – that could possibly outpace actual events.

The Bachelor in Paradise alums took to Instagram on Monday to announce the end of their relationship, nearly six months after their engagement aired on the show's season 8 finale. In a joint post, which included pics of videos from Brandon and Serene's time together, the former couple wrote, "After many months, today we have ultimately decided to end our engagement." "We have tried to work privately on our relationship which has been incredibly challenging in the public eye,"
Monday night, HBO aired the first of three installments in its documentary series Murder in Boston: Roots, Rage & Reckoning. Directed by Jason Hehir (who made The Last Dance), it's about the October 1989 murder of Carol Stuart. The murder was originally reported by her husband, Charles, as a carjacking by a Black assailant in which they had both been shot. She died, as did the baby she was carrying. By January, Charles' brother confessed that he had assisted Charles in murdering his wife and that Charles' own injury was essentially a misdirect; the carjacker never existed.
