Vulture’s Kathryn VanArendonk on her Animal Crossing island. Like many people, I’m a relatively new (but dedicated!) Animal Crossing player. I’d never played any of the previous versions of the game, but when Animal Crossing: New Horizons came out for Nintendo Switch right as a pandemic swept across the globe, I downloaded it immediately and have been a regular player ever since. I shake all the trees on my island daily, hoping to find cute new furniture.
Festival season is in full swing across the world, with many of our favourite artists flocking to stages in North America and Europe to entertain thousands. Dublin, Ireland has been a hot spot this weekend, with some of the biggest names in hip-hop, EDM, and other genres taking over the two-day Longitude Festival in Marlay Park. The BBC has admitted it made a mistake over its reporting of a rocket attack on a Gaza hospital. BBC correspondent Jon Donnison was reporting live on air about claims that a hospital in the region, which borders both Egypt and Israel, had been struck by a bomb or missile.

Dustin Klopp hanged himself in his cell at Lancaster County Prison in Pennsylvania on Wednesday  A Pennsylvania man accused of killing his wife with an ax on Christmas Eve and sexually assaulting her was pronounced dead after a suicide attempt. Dustin Lee Klopp, 36, hanged himself in his cell at Lancaster County Prison on Wednesday night.  The Paradise Township man was brought to the hospital and declared brain-dead because of lack of oxygen to the brain, according to the Lancaster County coroner's office.
