Joe Pera, who has already helped put audiences to sleep (in a good way) via the mediums of live stand-up comedy, animated special, and live-action television show, is now going to help people doze off into slumber via podcast as well. The comedian, Buffalo Bills fan, and human coffee antidote just wants people to get a good night’s rest, and who can blame him? Drifting Off With Joe Pera, an independent podcast with music and sound design by Ryan Dann — who composed the soundscapes that helped make Pera’s Adult Swim show Joe Pera Talks With You so relaxing — is coming to a podcast platform near you, Pera announced February 1 on Twitter.

Thailand's self-exiled prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra returned to Thailand on Tuesday after more than 15 years of self-imposed exile. After his arrival, Thaksin was taken to the Supreme Court, where he was sentenced to eight years in connection with three separate cases. It is unclear, however, how much time he will actually serve. Thaksin's return coincides with a vote in Parliament Tuesday on the formation of a new government his Pheu Thai party looks set to head.

Pianist Jeremy Denk's latest album is a musical odyssey. Starting with the austere tones of medieval composer Guillaume de Machaut, Denk travels in time across the keyboard all the way to the 20th Century landing on the atonality of Karlheinz Stockhausen and the minimalism of Philip Glass. Denk's album, titled c.1300-c.2000, is a two-disc collection spanning seven centuries of classical music. Denk spoke with NPR's Melissa Block about the stories behind and within the album and how the language of music evolved over the centuries.

TMZ is in the courtroom where attorney Adam Streisand just asked the court commissioner to 86 Jamie Spears as conservator of Brit's estate. Streisand said Brit's estate is worth $40 million. He also said Brit is in the middle of a $17 million IRS audit with her record label Jive Records and she has 15 different businesses. Streisand asked that the Commissioner name Northern Trust Bank and Howard Grossman, Brit's business manager, as conservators.
