Having worked hard for your dreams and then being robbed of them is one thing. But to lose one’s life and leave their family behind is something else entirely. A highly decorated prospect who was ready to make the leap to the NBA lost his life three months before the draft in a car accident, leaving the world devastated.

This young prospect was seen to be one of the best in the draft class he had declared for. Alas, he could not make it till then. And now two years after the horrific incident, LeBron James’ son decided to pay homage to the guard and Klutch Sports client.

LeBron James’s son pays homage

Two years ago, Terrence Clarke was one of the better prospects that would’ve been drafted into the NBA. Kentucky Wildcats freshman guard Terrence Clarke lost his life in a car accident at the age of 19.

Clarke ran a red light and met with a collision with another car. He was a solo occupant and crashed into a pole before colliding with a block wall. Clarke had just signed with Klutch Sports and the news devastated their CEO Rich Paul as well.

On his birthday today, LeBron James’ younger son Bryce James shared a post featuring Terrence Clarke. The post was originally uploaded by Slam and Slam High School, featuring some plays from Clarke’s short but highlighting stint.

Bryce shared the post on his Instagram stories. He captioned the post, “Happy bday brotha miss u.” And not just Bryce but fans in the comments section filled it up with prayers and memories of the Late Terrence Clarke.

The basketball community was devastated after his demise

Terrence Clarke’s death was devastating news to many. Even though his high school career was sidelined a bit due to injury, Clarke was still perceived to have done well when he got drafted into the league.

Terrence Clarke was familiar with players from the Boston Celtics. Being from Boston himself, Brad Stevens’ son looked up to him. Terrence Clarke was honored during the 2021 NBA draft class.

Midway through the first round of the 2021 NBA draft, Commissioner Adam Silver announced that the NBA is selecting Terrence Clarke from the University of Kentucky. Clarke’s relatives made their way to the stage and put on NBA hats in his honor and memory.

It truly was a tragic loss and Clarke had the potential to be much better than he was. May his soul rest in peace.
