The matchup between the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers had a controversial call in the final seconds, which turned the game upside down. Jaylen Brown was taking a shot in the final seconds of the fourth quarter when he was fouled by Buddy Hield. However, after reviewing the foul call, the referee claimed that the Pacers player hit the ball and overturned the foul call.

Due to this, the Pacers managed to win the match 133-131 which had all the Celtics fans and analysts fuming with anger. Even the 2x All-Star Jaylen Brown took to social media to call out the referee and added a $2.44 billion company to the mix.

After receiving the dubious call from the referee, Jaylen Brown tagged Buffalo Wild Wings on his social media with the foul clips and said, “We see you.” Not only him, but even the former basketball player Quentin Richardson saw the wild decision made by the referee and said, “This looks like a Buffalo Wild Wings commercial right here.” 

Both of the athletes were referring to the commercial put forth by the $2.44 billion company years ago. In this commercial, the football match is in its final quarter with no time left and the touchdown is under review by the referee. His review of the touchdown was to ask the fans as to what they wanted and as per their wishes, the referee took the match to overtime. So by calling out Buffalo Wild Wings, Jaylen Brown is trying to say that this was a rigged contest set up by the referee.

The 27-year-old star scored a season-high 40 points in this game. However, his efforts were of no use due to the controversial foul calling swaying the contest to the Railroad City’s favor. Brown spoke about the foul call in his post-match interview and said, “I think he obviously hit me in the head. We definitely need to do some investigation. That’s all I’m gonna say.” Even the Pacers star Buddy Hield spoke about this incident after the game.

In the post-match interview, Buddy Hield admitted that he made contact with not only the ball but also Jaylen Brown. He said, “I thought I might have hit him a little bit, but they have three refs out there, and they have cameras, and they got to slow down the angles of i. I’m not too sure, but it’s the end of the game.” 

Pacers’ guard Benedict Matthurin felt that he was called for a foul and called for a challenge on the same play, while Hield lifted his hands, clearly taking the call without protest. This goes to prove that Hield thought it was a foul himself, which is why he did not protest against the foul call. However, he had luck on his side as the referee passed the verdict in his favor.
