Natural Nylon hole

Law, Frost join exodus from prod'n company

LONDON — Jude Law and his actress wife, Sadie Frost, have pulled out of Natural Nylon Entertainment, amid reports that the film production company has effectively closed down.

Their formal withdrawal follows those of Ewan McGregor and producer Damon Bryant last year.

Law, McGregor and Bryant remain shareholders in the company, with fellow thesp Jonny Lee Miller and producer Bradley Adams. But sources said the company has been “put to bed.”

News comes just after sister outfit Union Pictures, a TV production firm run by Adams, went into voluntary receivership Dec. 20, although none of the actors was involved in that company.

Natural Nylon never lived up to its Britpack hype. Founded seven years ago amid claims by the actor partners that it would enable them to take greater control over their careers, it only managed to get its name on four films — “eXistenZ,” “Nora” and the upcoming “To Kill a King” and “Owning Mahowny.”

Bryant quit the company after a long illness to launch his own shingle, Sonnet Pictures, taking with him two Natural Nylon projects — long-delayed biopic “Marlowe” and “White Clouds.”

Both films were developed under Natural Nylon’s three-year deal with Alliance Atlantis that ended in 2001.
