This 8 e.l.f. lip oil is going viral for all the right reasons

e.l.f Cosmetics has just dropped the most epic lip oil collection which is going viral in the beauty corner of the internet. There are only a select few products landing on the beauty desk that get the whole team scrambling to get their hands on them. Lip gloss and lip oils are one of them, so naturally, as I opened the mailer, this one flew off my hands.

There are seven shades, all sheer, buildable and universal for all complexions. It's formulated as an epic skincare-makeup hybrid, giving you maximum moisture with high-gloss, a non-sticky finish and a gorgeous sheer wash of colour.

What sets this apart from the other gazzilion lip products is not its doe-foot cushion application (which in itself is a dream) that ensures even product distribution in one swipe, or its lip loving ingredients such as squalane, avocado oil, jojoba oil (also major key), and the texture which glides effortlessly across your pout to enhance your lips' natural colour – but the fact you get all of the above for £8!

Sounds too good to be true? Here are the GLAMOUR team's truest and most honest thoughts.

Shade: Pink Envy

There are some beauty products that I will forever get excited about once they land on my desk – lip oils are probably top two and maybe not number two. I'm a member of the lipahololic anonymous society. So I was ready to critic this e.l.f lip oil to its core.

It exceed my expectations. As soon as you open the perfectly curved doe foot wand you can smell the minty mad application so pleasant and easy. The formula is buttery smooth, it's ultra lightweight but still gives you a glossy, dewy finish. I dropped a point simply because I had to re-apply throughout out the day, to give me that proper doe lip finish that I like, but it's such a pleasant application experience I'm totally okay with that.

For eight great British pounds. I'm sold.

Lip oils have taken the beauty industry by storm this year, but that doesn't make me any less excited to try one when a new formula comes my way. Enter: Elf's latest drop. From the minty sensation it left on my lips to the subtle wash of colour, this is a lip product I will be keeping on my person every day. It has a large applicator, so literally takes seconds (without the need of a mirror) to apply, and will work beautifully when layered over lipsticks too. Oh, and the best part, it's super affordable. Chefs kiss.

Shade: Red Delicious

I could never resist a glossy lip, so imagine my excitement as soon as the new e.l.f. lip oils landed on my desk. Right off the bat, I was really impressed by the sleek packaging and the oversized doe foot applicator. I opted for the Red Delicious shade, which gives a lovely hint of strawberry upon application, and worked incredibly well when paired with a nude lip liner. I loved the subtle mint scent and the hydrating feel, but above all, I enjoyed the juicy glossy finish that doesn't feel sticky whatsoever. All that for £8? Sign me up.

Shade: Coral Fixation

This stuff is a godsend for my dry, chapped winter lips. The formula is instantly hydrating, you can tell there are some moisturising powerhouses in there (squalane, jojoba oil etc), and unlike other lip oils out there, this one isn't sticky or tacky. I would've loved some more colour pay-off with my shade – I had to apply a few coats before achieving a peachy-pink sheen – but in fairness, the product never promised vibrancy. If a pretty, sheer wash of colour is what you're after, this is the lip oil for you.
